*A majority of our animals are fostered in Texas, but available for adoption and transport to most states in the northeast, pacific northwest, and midwest once an adopter is found. Others are fostered & awaiting adoption in Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Delaware.
Adoption fees vary based on the type of pet, breed, and age.
The fee for dogs includes current vaccinations, deworming, microchip (with just an additional $12.99 lifetime registration fee required at time of adoption), fecal analysis, spay/neuter for dogs 6 months or older ($100 refundable deposit if not of age that is refunded upon proof of mandatory surgery by 6 months of age), heartworm test if over 6 months old, and any other necessary medical procedures. All dogs are also current on monthly heartworm & flea/tick prevention.
Adoption fees never cover the additional expenses we incur, which we rely on donations to cover.
*For animals awaiting transport or have already been:
A health exam will be completed and a health certificate issued by a veterinarian within 10 days of transport. Transport and health certificate fees are at the expense of the adopter (in addition to adoption fee) if the pet you are adopting is not local & must be paid BEFORE transport.

Foster-to-adopt, also known as a trial adoption, is a program where an individual or family temporarily takes a pet into their home with the intention of adopting them permanently if the match proves to be a good fit. This arrangement allows potential adopters to experience the responsibilities and dynamics of living with the pet before making a final commitment.
Foster-to-Adopters are given a 2 week period to determine whether it is a good fit.
During the foster-to-adopt period, the foster family provides care, attention, and a home environment for the pet. This trial period serves as a mutual assessment, allowing both the adopter and the pet to determine if they are compatible and comfortable with each other. It gives the adopter a chance to understand the pet's behavior, personality, and any specific needs, while the pet has an opportunity to acclimate to a new environment.
At the end of the foster-to-adopt period, the foster family can decide whether to finalize the adoption. If all parties, including the pet, are happy with the arrangement, the adoption will be finalized with the remainder of the adoption fee paid and adoption contract signed. On the other hand, if the fit is not ideal, the foster family can choose not to proceed with adoption, and the pet will be made available for adoption by another family. We will do our best to get the dog or cat moved as soon as a foster home opens up or a committed adopter is found.
A $50 non-refundable deposit is required in order to foster-to-adopt. If the adoption is pursued, then the deposit will go toward the adoption fee.
We will not allow anyone to foster-to-adopt if they are not actually looking to adopt the particular dog or cat. If you are not in a position to adopt, but would like to help one of our dogs or cats, please apply to foster until the pet is adopted! All approved expenses for fosters are covered by the rescue!
**SOME DOGS AND CATS ARE NOT ELIGIBLE FOR OUR FOSTER-TO-ADOPT PROGRAM. THIS INCLUDES PETS THAT ARE NOT LOCAL TO THE POTENTIAL ADOPTERS AND ARE AWAITING TRANSPORT.
IF YOU HAVE AN APPROVED ADOPTION APPLICATION & RECEIVED OUR APPROVAL TO FOSTER-TO-ADOPT A PARTICULAR DOG / CAT, PLEASE CONTACT US TO COMPLETE THE FOSTER-TO-ADOPT CONTRACT.
